Volunteer to Make a Difference in our Community
Volunteer opportunities exist in each of the following areas: Shelter/Crisis Line, Youth Programs, Transition Program, Community Education, Administration, Development/Fundraising, Facilities Maintenance, and Board of Directors. We can accommodate student practica and internships. Please inquire if you are interested.
After the completion of training we ask for a minimum commitment of six months to one year for 16-24 hours per month from each direct service volunteer.

In-Kind Wish List
- Household furnishings—lamps, chairs, tables, TVs, VCRs, bookcases, small couches, clocks, phones, answering machines
- Kitchen and bath towels, twin and full size sheets, pots & pans, silverware, coffeemakers, toasters, microwaves, bakeware
- Postage stamps and TriMet tickets
- Household supplies—laundry detergent, bathroom tissue, mops, brooms
- Baby items—playpens, toddler beds and sheets, strollers, high chairs
- Children's items—Multi-cultural dolls/puppets, fingerpaints, stickers, crayons, balls, frisbees, bicycles, helmets, backpacks, etc.
- Multi-cultural books and games, developmental toys, art supplies
- Gift certificates to local grocery/variety stores
- Toiletries—toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, full-size bottles shampoo & conditioner, African American hair products, soaps, picks & combs, razors, heating pads, hot water bottles, deodorant
- Tickets/passes for youth/adult recreation (OMSI, theater, movies, zoo, cultural events, Children's Museum, etc.)
- Vehicles (cars, trucks, vans, RVs...running or not!)
- Maintenance Items—lawn mower, power tools, weed eater, leaf blower, fans, electric heaters, pressure washer, wheelbarrow
- Office Supplies—office chairs, desks, desktop copier, large flip charts
- Cell phones (all conditions and types, working or not!)
