Emergency Shelter

The Emergency Shelter at Bradley-Angle House provides a safe, confidential living place for women and children fleeing from abusive situations. This is a short-term intensive program for 15 women and children at a time, for a maximum of six weeks. Shelter staff offer emotional support for participants both with planning for the future and accessing community resources for immediate needs, including clothing, furnishings, transportation, employment and/or job training, applying for financial assistance, connections to parenting support services, health services, drug and alcohol support and mental health counseling.

Shelter Youth Program

Bradley-Angle House Shelter Youth Program offers support and advocacy to young people staying at our shelter, or whose mother is in a Bradley-Angle House support group. Bradley-Angle House provides case management for mothers and children, individual and group sessions with the Youth Coordinator, play groups, and support in accessing community resources that may be necessary for growth and maintenance of safe and healthy families.

24-Hour Crisis Phone Line

Bradley-Angle House operates a 24-hour crisis line for peer counseling, resource referral and domestic violence information. When someone calls the crisis line number, they are able speak to an Advocate. Advocates provide basic assistance such as helping the caller determine if their relationship is abusive, helping the caller develop a safety plan or explaining the process of obtaining a civil restraining order.

People who call the crisis line have many different types of needs, questions, or concerns related to domestic violence. Individuals being battered call seeking shelter services, referrals to legal or housing resources in the community, or for immediate emotional support. Some callers are not in danger themselves, but are calling about a family member, a friend, or an employee. These callers are helped with suggestions about how to support the battered individual without compromising your own basic safety.

$35 will allow 2 youth to attend a weekly support group for a month.
