RAISE YOUR VOICE: Protect Survivors and Their Housing
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) just released information regarding new housing plans - these plans will leave over 1,180 households in Multnomah County without a place to call home, including domestic and sexual violence survivors working with Bradley Angle and other service providers.
This is a devastating announcement that will impact our entire country and will decrease permanent housing dollars from 90% to 30% - leaving families trying to heal and survive with no options for housing.
You can take action with us and speak out on behalf of the members of our community that are at risk of losing their housing.
Our friends at Northwest Pilot Project put together an easy list of ways to contact your reps to tell them,
“In our community, hundreds of residents are thriving in supportive housing. With proposed federal changes, their stability—and the success of local landlords and service providers—hangs in the balance.”
Urge Congress NOW to engage the White House and HUD to maintain the two-year Continuum of Care funding cycle and ensure any major program changes go through the proper legislative channels.
Ask Congress to include protective language in a Continuing Resolution (CR) or other legislative vehicle to preserve the two-year funding cycle and safeguard supportive housing programs.
Contact your US Senators and Representatives and tell them to STOP these changes!
